>Inspect briefcase

You walk over to the silver briefcase and squat down next to it. The heavy silver briefcase, warmed by the midday sun, appears nondescript, but as you turn it over, you see the same black and purple whirlpool that is on your jumpsuit. The stenciled black lettering underneath the logo reads "Eraser Kit". Part of you hopes the briefcase is unlocked, as you have no idea what the combination would be. Equal parts relief and confusion wash over you when you see that the case does not have combination locks, but rather an electronic square on each side of the handle, each about four centimetres long and three centimetres wide.

Chapter 1

You awake, the throbbing pain in the back of your head almost masking the discomfort in your shoulder and back - you're lying on something irregularly shaped. As your eyes gradually open, you see impossibly tall trees encapsulating the clearing in which you awoke. Screeches and the sound of flapping wings can be heard off in this distance, as well as the constant, low hum of insect life.

You stand up slowly, still sore from lying on something. As you pick yourself up, you see that you have been lying on a mechanical device of some kind - a raised metal platform, covered in lights and electronic components. Durable metal plating, various sophisticated electronic devices and thick cables protected by several inches of rubber litter the ground. To your left, a silver briefcase lies scuffed on the ground.

You stretch, and dust off the grey jumpsuit you're wearing. Your fingers briefly linger on the raised, embroidered patch on the left breast of your jumpsuit. The patch depicts a black and purple whirlpool, with the letters T.I.A. stitched above it. You feel several lumps in the pockets, as well as a wetness on the back of your neck. The redness on your fingers and the metallic smell of the substance all point to it being your blood. The persistent, throbbing pain in your head and the fact that you can't recall anything are probably related.
